The reason he's nt allowing ray to visit magic tower is cz he already suspects him being Leonard and he may disappear using stones since he was a mage originally

so the reason why he forbid ray to go to magic tower isn't because he doesn't want him to learn something powerful (so ray can have a chance to betray him) but he doesn't want him to be looked down by those mage people... actually that makes sense, if he sees ray as a treat, he wouldn't let him to learn sword anyway...
